The Hip Society Is Seeking One-Year Research Grant Proposals
The Hip Society’s Research Committee (Michael A. Mont, MD, Chair) is seeking applications for research grants. Members only may submit.
These will be one-year projects that may be renewed, annually, subject to review and approval, for up to three (3) years total.
Projects may be stand-alone or may be proof of concept trials for larger studies which might require additional funding.
Process Outline:
- Submit a 1-page abstract (blinded and unblinded) – by August 15 (deadline extended).
- Top abstracts will be invited to submit a more extensive grant proposal – by September 1.
- The format of the full proposal will be up to ten (10) pages maximum, to include an abstract, which includes purpose/hypothesis, specific methods, potential power analysis, and clinical relevance, as well as budgetary needs with justification.
- Grants will be for 1-year proposals at $10,000 - $ 25,000.
- In some cases, recipients may be eligible for multi-year projects. Additional funding of grants that go beyond 1 year will subject to Committee/Board approvals. Multi-center proposals for likelihood of high impact work will receive favorable consideration.
